The Master Addons Popup Builder lets you build Elementor popups and control how and when they show. You create the popup, set where it appears, design it (or import a ready-made one), then fine-tune the behavior from the popup settings panel. This guide walks through the whole flow and explains each setting.
Before You Start #
- Elementor installed and active (the free version works)
- Master Addons for Elementor installed and active (installation guide)
- Administrator access to your WordPress dashboard
Step 1: Create a New Popup #
From your dashboard, go to Master Addons > Popup Builder and click Add New Popup. In the popup that opens, type a Popup Name on the General tab so you can find it later, then flip Activation on so it goes live once you’re done.

Step 2: Set the Display Conditions #
Switch to the Conditions tab to choose where the popup runs. Conditions use Include (show here) and Exclude (don’t show here) rules. Pick Include > Entire Site to run it everywhere, or target specific pages, and add an Exclude rule for any page you want to skip.

Step 3: Import a Popup from the Template Library #
Click Edit with Elementor to open the popup canvas. You can build from scratch, but the fastest start is the popup template library: open it, browse the ready-made popups, and hit Insert on one you like. Here we’re using a “Digital Marketing Agency” template.

Step 4: Open the Popup Settings Panel #
With the popup open, click the settings icon at the bottom of the Elementor panel to open MA Popup Settings. This panel controls the popup’s behavior, and it’s split into four sections: Settings, Layout, Overlay, and Close Button.
Settings #
This section decides when the popup triggers and how often it comes back:
- Open Popup, the trigger, such as On Page Load, exit intent, or after inactivity (see the trigger docs for each one)
- Delay after Page Load, how many seconds to wait before showing
- Show Again Delay, how long before a visitor sees it again, from No Delay up to 1 Month, or Do Not Show Again
- Disable Page Scroll, lock the background so visitors focus on the popup
- Disable Popup Automatically, stop showing it after a set point

Layout #
The Layout section controls how the popup looks on screen:
- Display As, Popup Modal or Fullscreen
- Position, where it sits (Center Center, top, bottom, and so on)
- Animation and Animation Duration, the entrance effect and its speed
- Width and Height, the popup size
- Custom Positioning, fine offset control when you need it

Overlay #
The Overlay section handles the dimmed background behind the popup. Turn the overlay on or off, set its color and opacity, and decide whether clicking the overlay closes the popup. A darker overlay pulls more attention to the popup itself.
Close Button #
The Close Button section controls how visitors dismiss the popup:
- Show Close Button, toggle the X on or off
- Position, where the close button sits (for example, Top Right)
- Close on ESC Key, let visitors close the popup with the Escape key

Step 5: Save and View on the Front End #
When the settings look right, click Publish (or Update) to save the popup. Open your site, and it shows based on the trigger and conditions you set. Here it loads on the homepage, centered, with the dimmed overlay behind it.

Troubleshooting #
- Popup not showing? Check that Activation is on and that its conditions include the page you’re viewing.
- Popup keeps reappearing? Raise the Show Again Delay so it doesn’t pop on every visit.
- Popup shows too fast? Increase Delay after Page Load, or switch the trigger to exit intent or after inactivity.
Frequently Asked Questions #
How do I create a popup with Master Addons?
Go to Master Addons > Popup Builder, click Add New Popup, name it, set conditions, and turn Activation on. Then click Edit with Elementor to design it or import a template, adjust the settings, and publish.
Where do I set when the popup appears?
In the MA Popup Settings panel under the Settings section. The Open Popup option sets the trigger (like On Page Load or exit intent), and Delay after Page Load controls how long it waits before showing.
How do I stop the popup from showing every time?
Use the Show Again Delay option in the Settings section. Set it to a longer interval, or to Do Not Show Again, so a visitor who closed it won’t keep seeing it on every page load.
Can I import a ready-made popup design?
Yes. Inside the Elementor popup editor, open the template library, browse the popup templates, and click Insert. You can then edit the text, images, and colors to match your brand.
Do I need Elementor Pro for the Popup Builder?
No. The Master Addons Popup Builder runs on top of the free version of Elementor, so you can build and trigger popups without Elementor Pro.
