Elementor Container Max Width and Max Height Controls
Container Extras is a free Master Addons extension that adds four size controls to Elementor containers, sections and columns: Max Width, Max Height, Min Width and Min Height. Elementor already gives a container Width, Content Width and Min Height, but no maximum width or height for the element itself. Use it to cap a wide section at 1400px, stop a column from shrinking below a set width, or keep a panel from growing taller than the screen. All four controls are responsive.
How to Set a Max Width on an Elementor Container
You need Elementor and the free Master Addons plugin.
- Check that Container Extras is switched on under Master Addons, Extensions.
- In the Elementor editor, select the container, section or column.
- Open the Advanced tab and expand Container Extra.
- Set Max Width, Max Height, Min Width or Min Height and pick the unit.
- Switch to tablet and mobile view and adjust the values if needed.
- Preview the page at a few screen widths.
Max and Min Width and Height on Any Container
Open a container, section or column, go to the Advanced tab and expand Container Extra. Max Width and Min Width take px, em, % or vw. Max Height and Min Height take px, em, % or vh. The values apply to the element itself and can differ on desktop, tablet and mobile.
- Cap a full width section at a set width, such as 1400px, while the page stays wider.
- Give a column a Min Width so it does not squeeze too narrow in a row.
- Set Max Height with Elementor’s Overflow set to Auto for a scrolling panel.

Is Container Extras free?
Yes. Container Extras is part of the free Master Addons plugin, and it works on containers, legacy sections and columns. It changes only the element you set it on, so your global container width and other sections stay the same.
When should I use the 'Min Height' vs. 'Max Height' settings?
Use Min Height when a section must never be shorter than a set size, such as a hero or a colored band with little content. Use Max Height when a section must never be taller than a set size. Pair Max Height with Elementor’s Overflow setting on the container, set to Auto, if the content should scroll inside it.
Will overriding the container width make my design unresponsive or break on mobile?
Not if you set responsive values. All four controls have separate desktop, tablet and mobile values. A fixed px Max Width or Min Width can overflow a small screen, so use % or vw on mobile, or clear the value there.
What's the difference between Container Extras and simply using a "Full Width" or "Stretch" container in my page builder?
A Full Width container stretches to the edges of its parent. Container Extras lets that same container stop at a Max Width, such as 1400px, so it is wider than your boxed content but not edge to edge. Elementor’s own Min Height works the same either way.
