Sometimes it’s necessary to set Age Verification on a webpage. Some call this system Age gate or Age restriction too. Adding Age verification in WordPress website with Elementor page editor is easier now.
If you are Master Addons pro user then you will get this feature for free. There is an individual plugin available in codecanyon named Restrict Content for Elementor. Both elements work in the same way.Â
In this post, I will show you how to arrange the age verification system on any Webpage made with Elementor.
Age verification, in the context of websites, is important because it ensures that children are not exposed to content that is not appropriate for their age. The website can ask the user’s age before allowing them to see certain content.
Many websites have implemented an age verification process as a means of protecting children from viewing inappropriate content. These sites usually require users to enter in their date of birth so they can verify if the user falls within a specific range. These websites might also ask for other pieces of information such as the name, address and email address.
There are two types of age verification systems. The first one is on page which allows you to restrict a fixed section content. And there is another popup version that appeared automatically on page loads or open after clicking on button.
There are total 4 types of popup type available for age verification. You are free to select anyone from the list.
First of all, make sure you have a pro license of Master Addons plugin otherwise you can’t work with Age gate or age verification elementor widget.
Drag that element and drop it inside your elementor page editor. Now select “Age Restriction” as restrict type. By default it’s on page, you are free to select popup as restrict type too.
Define the minimum age to unlock the specific content of your webpage. If anyone inputs less than the minimum age then he/she will see an error message.
Here you see another option named “Age Restrict Type”. There is a total of 4 unique variations for age restriction (Select Birthday, Enter Age, Checkbox, and submit confirm).
You will see “Restrict Content” option under “Restrict Type” . Open this content option and input your each and every text including image, video, document. This content section will be locked.
Navigate to style area and you will see a few options which allow you to customize the typography, color, background, border etc. From message contents style you able to customize the on page message text typo and color.
That’s all about the on page system. Now let’s change the first restrict type in a popup.
Now you will see another option named Popup Settings. There are 4 unique variations for different types of popup.
You can apply any type of Age Restrict type like enter age, checkbox for the popup too.
Now navigate to style tab to customize your popup or on page typography, color.
If you select popup then you will see popup style option too. Select background type classic or gradient. In classic you can insert any color or image as background and from Gradient you can define multiple color for gradient background.
