No. Every option is exposed through the visual editor. If you do write CSS there is a field for it on each element, but nothing depends on you using it.

Anything following standard theme conventions will work. Block and classic themes are both supported, and header and footer output is respected rather than replaced.

About ten minutes for a first page. Templates cover the common patterns, so most of that time goes on writing copy rather than arranging boxes.
